Commerce, California
The City of Commerce wanted to announce the return of previous, well-loved aspects of former transit routes to the Commerce community.
We built a visual system based on a nostalgic “Back to the Future” theme to highlight the upcoming changes. We took typographic inspiration from the original Back to the Future movie poster and included portals, lightning, and vintage technology to align with various details of the film.

Alternate Style
During the Creative Direction phase, we developed a second artistic style with more dramatic lighting, textures, and subtle details. In this sample image, we included Marty McFly’s sneakers floating through the portal, a spinning watch to highlight the time travel theme, and telephone poles referencing one of the movie’s key scenes.
Ultimately, the time frame for completing this video was too quick to pursue this style further.
